Kept our winter baby warm and cozy

Some thoughtful friends sent us a Bundle Me when our son was born. When initially shopping for baby items, I hadn't thought we'd need such a thing, but it was incredibly useful. The bottom half stays in the car seat, making it warm and snuggly, and the top half zips on. We left it zipped on all the time for convenience, and just varied the degree to which we zipped our son in depending on the temperature. You can keep it zipped all the way for travel to the car, and easily unzip a bit for ventilation when riding in a warm vehicle. No need for a bulky snowsuit or blankets- just throw on a hat, and when you reach your destination, baby can be unzipped in a second and is comfortably dressed for indoor temperatures. The straps of our carseat fit through the holes perfectly. If you're concerned about this, I would head into BRS and simply ask a salesperson to demonstrate the product with your carseat. Also important- the Bundle Me washes quite well. Only downside to this product for me-and it's a minor point- is that I sometimes preferred carrying my son in a Snugli while running certain errands. When we got out of the car, I would put on the Snugli and load baby in, but then needed to wrap up with warm blankets for the walk into the building, since he was only wearing indoor clothes. Not a concern when you're bringing the carseat infant carrier inside, which was most often the case for us.
As for safety concerns, I was willing to accept the information below from the product description. And where the well-being of my child is concerned, I was comforted to know that the Bundle Me prevented his catching a chill throughout our cold New England winter.
"In line with JJ Cole's commitment to child safety, the Bundle Me has been tested to FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) 213 requirements. All tests passed on the child restraint system, indicating that the Bundle Me product appeared to have little to no effect on the performance of the child restraint system." |
How could I have done without this?

Excellent product, saves time, and money! How? You don't spend money on snowsuits, sweaters, mittens or thick clothing, only to be quickly outgrown, having to be replaced. I put a hat on my son, and put him in the Bundle me, where he stays warm and sometimes even sweats.
Please bear in mind that you do need a hat.
It fits well in the Graco Snugride infant carseat, and I think it should be okay in other seats. I like it that my baby can go out in whatever he is wearing at home, so long as I put him in this. When it's warm in the car, in the store or when I reach home and I don't want to disturb his sleep, I unzip at the sides as appropriate - as little as or as much as I want.
The one problem I see is that I usually tuck the sides of the cover round the sides of my sons head. However when he is active or simply playful, he beats off the cover with his hands, and I usually have to calm him so he leaves the cover in place before I venture into the cold. If you have a very active baby you may want to bear this in mind.
It's becoming a favorite shower gift from me to friends. It makes life easy for me and the thought of going out in the winter months is less daunting. |

I have three kids and didn't have the bundle me with the first two. I thought "do I really want to spend $40 on this thing - I didn't need it with my first two!" It was well worth the money.
Anyone with more then one kid knows the second or third baby just has to go with the flow. At a moments notice you can be running out the door for a number of things. With Bundle Me you don't need a bunting outfit,a coat, a hat, or even a blanket for your baby. Just buckle your baby in - zip and go. - If the wind is blowing, raining, snowing or just too sunny - you can just pull up the flap and hold it with the handle of the car seat. Instant cover from the elements. this is a feature you don't get with the covers that wrap around the outside with a hole for the baby's face. During the in between seasons the cover zips off completly. I didn't find it too bulky or a saftey issue. You adjust the straps of your infant carrier to fit. It washes great too. I loved this item. |

| I just purchased this for my 2 month old. What a great investment! My baby is so comfy in it that he stays asleep for a long time. I no longer have to deal w/blankets like I did w/my 1st baby 2 years ago. We lost or dirtied her blankets that fell onto the ground. P.S. Don't forget to bring an extra blanket for nursing. I know I did a couple of times. |

| We received this item as a gift and found it really came in handy during the cold winter months in upstate New York. You simply arrange the Bundle Me in the car seat carrier and when it's time to go, just zip baby inside for cozy warmth. You can't beat the convenience of not having to put on a hat, coat, mittens, etc. when your infant is fussy or sleeping. Baby blankets can slip out or get kicked off, while the Bundle Me stays securely where you want it. Baby too warm or too cold? Just adjust the zipper up, down or even take the blanket cover completely off. Highly recommend. |
